Show Gas Rate Increase Hearing Scheduled Utah Gas Service's request for a new rate increase will be the subject of a public hearing before the Utah Public Service Commission in Salt Lake City Jan. 19. Company officials report that, because of a price increase to Utah Gas from the Altamont production plant, they have been forced to ask for the new increase in price to their customers. This request is for .0045c per therm, or 45c per 100 therms, increased rate to customers, said local manager Lou Smith. He stated that the upcoming hearing is not in any way connected with the protest recently lodged by local groups regarding the deposit required by his company of new customers. Smith noted that Ray Pruitt, a PSC staff member, will be a guest at the Chamber of Commerce meeting next Tuesday and will most probably discuss this issue then. |
