Show Visitation Down at Newspaper Rock In figures released this week by Gordon W. Topham, Ranger for Utah State Parks and Recreation, Newspaper Rock showed a decrease in visitation for the month of January from 333 visits in Jan. of 1975 to 184 visits for the same month this year. Top-ham Top-ham said that the decrease is possibly due to the fact that during the month the Newspaper News-paper Rock entrance sign has been in Salt Lake City for repairs and, therefore, many people may have passed the monument without stopping. ' The Goosenecks State Reserve Re-serve on the other hand, according to Topham, has shown an increase in visitation from 60 visits in 1975 to 170 visits for Jan. this year. |
