Men's Bowling Winners Announced This Week Winners in the Men's City Bowling Tournament were announced an-nounced this week by Moab Lanes following completion of the four day event last Sunday. Sun-day. The tourney was held Feb. 19, 20, 26 and 27. In the team - competition $113.60 was awarded to the team sponsored by Ernie's ' G & E Service, which copped ' first place with a score of 3123. Second place went to Hayes Service with a 2996. Prize for second place was $72.40. In the doubles play Tony Contrares and Al Lovato won first place with a combined score of 1300 and with it first place money of $77.60. Second place went to Nick Murphy, Jr., and Jerry Hofer with a 1263 and included a prize of $45.76. Third place was won ' by Ernie McCoy and Tony Contreras with a score of 1236 and prize money of $27.84. J Ernie McCoy won the singles sing-les event with a score of 617 and with it prize money of $36.40. Merlyn Stainbrook was second, Tony Contreras third, Jerry Hofer fourth, and Nick Murphy, Jr., fifth. All events honors were won by Jerry Hofer with a score cf 1705 scratch and 1916 handicap. han-dicap. Prize money of $14.80 was awarded him. Roy Rockwell Rock-well was second. There was a total of $475 in prize fees returned during the event and an additional $205 in lane prizes awarded. First place trophies also went to the winner in each event. |
