Utah Symphony Concert Here Next Tuesday Evening m m Moab residents will be treated to a performance by the Utah Symphony Orchestra next Tuesday, March 7, beginning be-ginning at 8 p.m. at Gland County High School. The performance will include in-clude Toccata and Fugue in D Minor by J. S. Bach; Fantasia Fan-tasia on "Greens'.eevcs" by Vaughan Williams; Human Carnival Overture by Louls Ih-ctur Berlioz; Carmen Suite by Georges Bizet; and Symphony Sym-phony No. 4 in F Minor by IYter Tcluiikovsky. Admission ff tiie evening will be $2 per person with High School and Junior High School .students admitted free with activity cards. Elemcn-tary Elemcn-tary School students will be admitted free if accompanied accompan-ied by a paying adult. During the past year, the Orchestra has performed in eleven western states and traveled some 15.000 miles, giving a total of 170 concert to a combined audience of over 325,000 people. Maurice AbravancI, a. major ma-jor figure among orchestra conductors today, the prcs- tigious conductor of the Utah Symphony for the past 25 years, is a man of tremendous tremen-dous emotion and brilliant intellect in-tellect and has an absolute grasp of musical concepts with the ability to evoke admiration, ad-miration, esteem, and loyal'y from his orchestra member?. He will lead the Orchcstha in their performance Tuesday. Ardean Watts, associate conductor, a truly mountain of a man, both artistically and physically, has been described de-scribed as a "one man rnusi-cal rnusi-cal factory." His fire and zeal and perfection in conducting con-ducting attests to his superb musicology.
