Show Uintah Utes Dominate State Meet As expected, the Uintah Utes dominated the State Wrestling Meet Friday and Saturday, at Vernal as they grappled their way to seven individual titles and fifth straight championship. Moab's lone entry, Jim White, finished third in the 155 pound class. Region Six really demonstrated some muscle. Sixteen of the 24 finalists fin-alists were from this region and they grappled all but two of the titles. Randy Butler of Monticello and Sam Keith of San Juan took titles for the Southern Division. So dominant was Uintah that all eleven of their entries en-tries were still contending in the final rounds. Only Delta could challenge the Region Six hold on the meet and the Rabbits ended up in second place. , Moab will graduate only three men from their twelve man squad which gives prom- ise for the years to come. However, . Uintah loses but three also and unless a proposed pro-posed new alignment takes place, the Utes appear to be, the team to beat again in '73 |
