Show Body of Drowning Victim Discovered after 15 Months Two men, liohcrt Crawford and Coombs Hall, who had been working for Lowdermilk Construction Co., this week found the body of C. R. Sher-rell, Sher-rell, who along with two other Green Hiver men had been lost in the Colorado Hiver when their raft overturned on a hunting expedition in Wes'.-water Wes'.-water Canyon on Nov. 15, 1970. The body was found Monday Mon-day about seven miles up-river up-river from Dewey near where Sagers Wash enters the river. Sheriff W. H. Bowman stated that apparently the body had been washed ashore during high water last spring. The remains were identified by family members by dental work and a belt buckle found on the body. A memorial to Mr. Sher-rell Sher-rell was erected by family members last year near the spot where the boat capsized. Two other men in the hunting party, Robert Hubbs and Franklin L. Greenhalgh lost their lives in the accident as well. Hubbs' body was found in June of last year and the body of Greenhalgh was dis covered in May. A fourth member of the party, Rex Christensen washed ashore and walked to Cisco to notify authorities of the tragedy. The remains were taken to Turner Funeral Home. |
