Show Union Carbide Development Work Done Union Carbide of Grand Junction, '"olo., this week announced an-nounced that they have now completed development contracts con-tracts on their mine near LaS.il. The work was done by William 1). Williams Mining Company and has been going on for about a year. The completion of the development de-velopment work on the incline has been done and the company com-pany will now be ready to begin work on undergr'und mining work as soon as a contract for the work is let. About 8 to 10 men have been employed on the development work and it is expected thai about the same number will be employed during the early stages of mining work, although al-though hiring is expected to increase after initial tunneling tunnel-ing work is complettd. It is expected by the company com-pany that ore mined from the shaft will be taken to Uravan, Colo., for processing. Virtually Virtu-ally no ore has been taker: from the mine at this time, although a company official did state that the property "looks promising." |
