Show TV Courses Starting Through SUCCE Sept. 23 Beginning Tuesday evening, even-ing, September 23 at 6:30 P.M., the first of a weekly series of televised lecture presentations on Quality Parenting Par-enting will be broadcast by Moab's Town TV in cooperation coopera-tion with the Southeastern Utah Center for Continuing Education. Each week the program will be repeated on Thursday morning at 8:30 A.M. The series, with accom-paning accom-paning reading study material will be offered for college credit andor teacher recertif-ication recertif-ication credit through Utah State University's Department of Family and Child Development Develop-ment and the Southeastern Utah Center for Continuing Education cooperating. In addition the special television humanities class, "Classic Theatre-The Humanities Human-ities in Drama will be offered through SUCCE for credit. The initial weekly presentation which will begin the series will be Thursday, September 25 on KUED-TV at 8:30 P.M. Moab's Town Television will repeat the series each week on Tuesday evening beginning at 7:00 P.M. for those unable to watch KUED on Thursday. Also, available in part via television this quarter will be the "American Issues Forum Series being run through numerous Utah newspapers. Additional information, registration regis-tration particulars and all necessary textbooks and study materials are available at the Southeastern Utah Center for Continuing Education, 45 East Center in Moab. Regarding the Quality Parenting Par-enting class in particular, the class is an offering of the Utah State University Department Depart-ment of Family and Child Development, and is intened-ed intened-ed to deal with specific problems encountered by parents par-ents in child raising. Among others, areas covered include: specific problems of young parents, family direction, bowel bow-el and bladder control, setting the example, nail biting, thumb sucking, how to teach children about death, teaching responsibility, etc. The TV portion will be presented as described on the attached memo. Study materials mater-ials for the 3.0 hours of college credit available for the course will be on hand at SUCCE. Class begins September 23 with the first repeat September Septem-ber 25. Even though you may not be interested in college credit and the extra study involved, please tune in for what we believe will be a worthwhile series of presentations. |
