Show Capitol Reef Up 22 Percent Superintendent W. Franklin Wallace announced this week that travel to Capitol Reef National Park for the month of August totaled 57,232 visitors for an increase of 22 per cent compared to August 1974. Travel for the year to date shows 228,753 visits, for an increase of 28 per cent compared to the same period last year. Campground use now totals 21,831 for an increase of 21 per cent over the corresponding period last year. Visitor center hours beginning beginn-ing Sept. 1 have been cut back to an 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. schedule, and the center is open seven days a week. i |
