Show H.E. Blake Novel Published A novel of Western Colorado and Utah, "Cattle "Cat-tle Country Adventure" has just been published by Vantage Press and is now on the market. The book by 11. Klwin Blake, a former Moab resident, is the story of a cattleman cattle-man who is forced to move his family and cattle cat-tle from Colorado to a new range in Utah, due to false charges against him. Kvents in the book begin be-gin in the Lone Cone area of Colorado and continue through Dry Valley to Moab, across the Colorado River to a new grazing land. Mr. Blake's father, II. E. Blake, was a resident of Moab many years ago and worked for The Times-Independent during dur-ing his stay here. He later left Moab to go to Monticello where he became be-came the editor of the San Juan Record. The author au-thor was born in New Mexico and educated in Utah where, aftergradu-ating aftergradu-ating from high school, he worked in the placer mines of the Henry Mountains. In his long and exciting career, he has served as head chainman on a survey crew, worked on several Colorado, Utah and New Mexico newspapers, and acted as boatman for the United States Geological Survey in Utah, Wyoming Colorado and Airzona. He also farmed his own homestead for several years and owned a small sawmill and refinery. |
