Show Federal Aid Funds are Announced Distribution of $28,-600.000 $28,-600.000 in Federal Aid funds to the states for wildlife restoration and hunter safety programs for fiscal 1974 has been announced by the Department Depart-ment of the Interior. Of the total. $26,500.-000 $26,500.-000 was distributed according ac-cording to a formula based on hunting license holders and the area of each Mate. This amount may be used on approved slate wildlife projects which include acquisition of land suitable for habitat, habi-tat, development and manipulation of habitat, and research to aid in managing game species. The funds arc deposited into a special fund created cre-ated by the Federal Aid in Wildlife Restoration Act of 1937 (1'ittman-Kobertson) (1'ittman-Kobertson) and amended in 1970 to include the tax on pistols and revolvers. re-volvers.
