Show SCENIC TOURS Sgfeg r - " Ottinger Tours Offers Visitors Professional Guide Service Professional guide service into the heart of Canyonlands National Park or the many miles of fantastic country which surround it can be provided by Moab's first tour guide, Lin Ottinger. Headquartered Head-quartered at the Moab Rock Shop, 137 N. Main, Ottinger's Tours takes in such spectacular country as the Island in the Sky, Walking Rocks, Washerwoman, Washer-woman, and Monument Basin all within the Park boundaries. Other tours encompass Arches National Park, Onion Creek, Hurrah Pass, the LaSal Mountains and the Sand Flats areas. Special and seasonal tours may be taken to fit the desires of several field of interest. Rates for the tours range from $20 for special tours for $10 for a short four hour trip. Eight hours of sightseeing with Lin, who is a photographer, geologist and naturalist can also be arranged. A minimum of two people are required to take the tour and children under 12 go for half price. Lunch is provided on the 8 hour tour. Those people interested in geology, archeology, fossil and rock hunting will enjoy special interest tours and mineral specimens may be taken along all tour routes except in the National Parks. Seasonal tours can be taken in the spring (April, May and June) to see desert wildflowers in bloom; in summer (July and August) to see mountain moun-tain meadows ablaze with colorful flowers; in fall (late September and early October) to see vast slopes covered with golden hued aspen, scrub oak, and other colorful shrubs; and in the winter (January and February) to view spectacular red sandstone canyons and spires over-laid with thin blankets of pure white snow. Those tours are enjoyed by everyone, but are of special interest to photographers photo-graphers and naturalists. Upon request, special tours can be arranged which will take you into seldom seen Canyonlands areas which abound in unnamed arches, natural bridges, domes, pinnacles, caverns, petrified forests and scenic viewpoints. |
