Show Retired Senior Volunteer Program Set for Price Washington. D.C., June 15 ACTION, the citizens citi-zens service corps, has awarded $16,857 to the Carbon County Council on Aging in Price, Utah to operate a Retired Sen- ior Volunteer Program. The grant to the county agency at 30 East 2nd St. South was announced in Washington today by ACTION AC-TION Director MikeBal-zano. MikeBal-zano. The Retired Senior Volunteer Program (RSVP) is a national program pro-gram to develop significant signifi-cant volunteer service in local communities for men and women age 60 and over. The one-year grant will enable the group to start an RSVP in Carbon County, placing 50 Senior Volunteers in service the first year, and as many as 400 in the next five. William Bate is chairman chair-man of the Carbon County Council on Aging. Volunteers serve in a variety of organizations, agencies and institutions such as courts, schools, libraries, day care centers, cen-ters, hospitals, nursing homes, scout offices, economic development agencies and other community com-munity service centers. |
