Show Precipitation . . . May precipitation in the Upper Colorado River Basin was more than double the average for that month. This has raised the forecast of April-July runoff to 10 million acre-feet. This is 139 per cent of the average over the last 15 years, or 121 per cent of the long-time, 1906 to date average, according to a report released by the Bureau of Reclamation this week. The flow of the Colorado River through West-water West-water Canyon apparently peaked at 41,000 c.f.s. late in May and is now 25,000 c.f.s. In Cataract Canyon, the flow peaked at 65, 000 c.f.s. and is now 40,000 c.f.s. Moab residents noted this weekend that the Colorado River had reached a second peak that appeared to have exceeded the late May crest. Flow in the Green River at Green River, Utah is approximately 15,000 c.f.s. It peaked at 25,000 c.f.s. the last part of May. |
