Show Mary-Martha Mission Group Holds Meet The monthly general meeting meet-ing of the Mary Martha Mission Mis-sion Society of the Community Commun-ity Baptist church was held Jan. 9th. President Helen Taylor expressed ex-pressed pleasure at the fine attendance. She encouraged members to do more to help the Church's young people, and it was voted to help pay for the loud speaker system for the sanctuary. Christmas letters to tti3 Mary Marthas from past president pre-sident Nancy Links, and from former pastor's wife, Viola Horner, were read. The group was entertained with some Marian Anderson spirituals: Mrs. II a Corbin gave the devotional, de-votional, emphasizing stewardship, stew-ardship, which was also carried car-ried out in table decor and a play. The play, "The Best of Two Worlds," was presented present-ed by Secretary and leader of the month, Lorraine Self, and cast Mona Abuman, Jo-elyn Jo-elyn Linn, Marilyn Wyalt, and Joan Arrieri. ' Stationery was handed lo those present to "write themselves them-selves a letter concerning personal religious growth.'' The letters will be mailed to the addressees in two weeks. Delicious cake was served by the hostess of the evening, Bunny Sherman, assisted by Vivian Arthur and Marie Cordray. |
