Show Jackie Bierschied Will Head 1968 Heart Fund Drive in Grand County Mrs. Jackie Bierschied, 443 Huntridge Drive, has been appointed Overall Chairmnn of the Grand County 1968 Heart Fund Drive. The appointment was announced an-nounced this week by Mrs. Helen Taylor, State Board member for the Utah Heart Fund 'Association. Assisting Mrs. Bierschied will be the Epsilon Sigma Alpha Al-pha sorority, which has assumed as-sumed responsibilities for organization or-ganization and management of the traditional Mothers March for the heart cause. Mrs. Taylor expressed pleasure pleas-ure that the sorority group has responded. "They have done a splendid job in assisting assist-ing with other drives in the past, and ' are now taking their turn in the Heart Fund Drive." Workers assisting with the last year's march will be asked to serve again in the worthy cause, she said, and Wayne Davis, field representative, rep-resentative, will meet with the sorority and other heart fund leaders, on January 17th to help complete the organization organi-zation of the 1968 drive. The Business drive will be headed by Manly Lincoln. Assistants As-sistants for this portion of the drive will be listed next week. Mrs. Taylor said it was hoped several businessmen will volunteer vol-unteer assistance. During 1967 Grand County ranked second in the state for heart fund contributions, Mrs. Taylor pointed out, and it is hoped the record can be maintained this year. Inclusive Inclus-ive of the heart memorial gifts contributed last year. Grand County's fund topped $1300, giving it a 20 cents per capita rating. The county's rating is topped only by Morgan Mor-gan County, which has a 25 cents per capita rating. |
