Show Four Corners Headquarters In Farmington The long pending locafiot! of the newly founded Four Corners Regional Commission headquarters was settled this week. The headquarters offices of-fices will be located at Farmington, Farm-ington, N. M. A unanimous vote of all four Governors had to be obtained ob-tained before the headquarters headquar-ters officers could be located Recently the site had seemingly seem-ingly narrowed to Farming-ton Farming-ton or Moab. The decision to choose Farmington was announced an-nounced TJiesday in a telegram tele-gram to Mayor Winford Bunce from Orren Beaty, co-chairman co-chairman of the Commission. It read: "Four Corners Regional Comimssion today voting on site of Regional Headquarters Headquart-ers and decided on Farming-ton. Farming-ton. I believe a good choice has been made but it would have been a good selection also if your city had been chosen. I regret only one could be chosen. Each Governor Gov-ernor supported a site in his own state on first choice but second choice balloting swung the decision to Farmington. Recognizing the interest each Governor had in his own state, I am doubly appreciative apprecia-tive of the fact that they were willing to yield so a site could be picked and we could proceed with the important im-portant work of the Commission. Commis-sion. I also appreciate your interest and hope we can continue to work together to improve the economy of the entire region." The telegram was signed by Mr. Beaty. |
