Show Lenten Season Opened fey St. Pius XC:-;: Special services were h?;d at St. Pius X Catholic church on Ash Wednesday,-Feb. 2'1, the opening of the Lenten Season. Ashes were blessed at a special Mass Wednesday evening, ev-ening, and ashes distributed immediately after. "As never before let this Lent be for us a Lent of prayer," Father John Hart. Pastor of St. Pius stated. "The Lent season helps us tc appreciate the great mysteries myster-ies of our Faith. By doinr penance, and offering ourselves our-selves to God, we will better realize how much God love us . . . When Jesus made His Lent he went into the desert to pray and practice self denial. de-nial. As never before, let thit Lent be for us a Lent ol prayer." Mass will be held at 7:1C p.m. Friday, March 1, at St Pius: Stations of the Cros; will be held after Mass Friday, Fri-day, and on following Fri days throughout Lent. |
