Show STEREOTYPERS ALONE HOLD OUT IN BUTTE BUTTE, March 27. With the ex-! ception of the Stereotypers' union, every labor organization connected with the newspapers has signed, or expressed ex-pressed a willingness to sign for a period pe-riod of threo years, a contract which had been prepared by the publishers embodying the scale under-which the stereotypers had worked, until the time of the shutdown six weeks ago. It now appears that the union demands that increased wages, voluntarily paid by the publishers to the more skilled men, bo adopted as the regular scale. The publishers refused to pay these wages under forced action. The Typographical union and the Fressmen's union signed the three-year contract yestcrdav at the old scale prevailing pre-vailing prior to May, 1906. The Mail- ers aro ready to sign a contract. |
