Show FARRELL CONCERT A GREAT f SUCCESS j Local talent shone last night at an' entertainment by Alfred L. Farrell in the First Congregational church. Ev-j ery number was greatly appreciated. ; Mrs. Farrell, in particular, was heartily , applauded for her rendition of Poe's! 'The Raven." - j ' Dove Song.' ' "Figaro " and " Praise ! Ye, ' ' as sung by Mrs. E. W. Sloan, so- prano, evoked merited applause. - Alfred Farrell sang "Myself, When Young," the encore in the "Trooper," and "Lord God of Abraham," from "Elijah." "Eli-jah." in a manner which impressed all' with his ability. . , On the violin Miss Phyllis Thatcher, showed remarkable mastery of the dif- ficult instrument, and particularly by; her bowing in "Cavatina" and "Trau-I merei." Fred Graham's "Jean" and1 "I'll Sing the Songs of Araby"i bronght out to a nicety his sweet tenor voice. |
