Show CITY EYES BUILDING FOR OFFICE NEEDS The city commission Tuesday referred re-ferred to the public safety department depart-ment a letter from Edwin G. Wool-ley Wool-ley Jr., public safety building manager, man-ager, pointing out that a building owned by the Mountain States Telephone and Telegraph company at 115 South State street soon will be on the market and would "fit In splendidly with the public safety department set-up." While the letter did not specifically specifi-cally recommend purchase of the building by the city, It pointed out the structure is Immediately south of the public safety building and could be used for "needed quarters for police, fire and health departments, depart-ments, the National Automobile Theft bureau, State Municipal League of Utah and the press." The last three named groups now have headquarters In the public safety building, which Mr. Woolley said was overcrowded. |
