Show Residents Ask Safety Moves Seeking what they ragard as needed traffic safety measures at the West Fourth South street viaduct, via-duct, members of the Toppers club and other petitioners Tuesday asked the city commission for Installation In-stallation of the following at and near the viaduct: 4 Placing stop signs and "No U-Turn" U-Turn" signs at the west end of the road paralleling the viaduct on the north and at the east end of the south road and designating these parallel roads as one-way streets. Enforcement of parallel parking at each end of the viaduct in front of business houses. Painting a double yellow stripe between Fourth West and Seventh West streets and over the viaduct and prohibiting passing of cars over the double line. Designation of a safe rate of speed over the viaduct. Replacement of four street lights not now In operation on the viaduct and Installation of a sodium so-dium vapor light at each end of the viaduct. Placing of a U-turn button 100 feet west of the Seventh West street Intersection. The petition bore the names of 106 persons, club members and residents of the district, headed by t,ht of Lee Edgar, 1021 West Fourth South street, chairman of the club's traffic safety committee. |
