Show German Planes Bomb. Gun Ten British Ships 32 Injured WheruPatrol Vessel Is Attacked Mine Sinks Tanker; 20 Feared Dead, LONDON, Jan. 9 (INS) Shielded by it chill mist, German bombing and fighting planes today swept along the English and Scottish coast, attacking 10 British ships with bombs and machine guns. At least two boats were damaged, dam-aged, and an eleventh boat, the tanker British Liberty, was hit by a mine and sunk in the North aea with a probable lots of 20 men. In addition to five larger ships, German aircraft bombed and ma-china ma-china gunned flv fishing smacks off the east coast of Scotland before be-fore they were driven off by British Brit-ish planes. Thirty-two men were Injured, some seriously, when German war-planes war-planes attacked a coastal patrol ship off tha east coast of England, machine-gunning the deck for half an hour. The ship, however, was believed still afloat. British pursuit pur-suit planes drove off the attacker. Two German fighting planes bombed and machine gunned another an-other freighter, northbound off England, but they fled when the ship opened fire.
