Show Townsend's Son Tells Urahns Election Aims If major party candidates In the 1940 elections, are unsatisfactory unsatisfac-tory to proponents of the Town-send Town-send old age pension plan, the group may put Its own candidates in the field, according to Robert C. Townsend. 25-year-old son of Dr. Francis E. Townsend, founder of the plan. Mr. Townsend, who left Salt Lake City Thursday for his home in Chicago, addressed Townsend club members from throughout the state Wednesday night in The Tribune-Telegram Tribune-Telegram auditorium. Reporting growth of Townsend clubs, he declared: de-clared: "We expect to have a great deal to say about who is elected In 1940." |
