Jones, director of the ' division of Industrial hygiene for ; j th state board of health. -; i The program calls for extension 4 of studies of health hazards Into In-A In-A dustries not covered by a recent cooperative survey made by th i&3 Mat board and the U. S. public rr health service. Th findings of the cooperative '-. aurvey are now being correlated Into a report at Washington, D. C, iJ ln report to be used by the 1941 legislature In framing new Industrial health legislation. Coal ' ' mining, metal mining and smelting and refining Industries were covered cov-ered In the survey. A major phas of th new tat program will b educational, with th division of Industrial hygiene cooperating with Industrial concerns con-cerns and other group through consultant service and by other ..-. n. i ... Survey of sanitary conditions m communities, with studies of mortality and morbidity rate are to be undertaken. Both medical engineering and laboratory Investigations a r planned Into Industries not covered by th previous aurvey. A library Is to be made available to Interested group and laboratory facilities provided. A consultant service will be established and speaker will be furnished for an educational program. pro-gram. District personnel of th Stat board of health will be used. Dr. Jones said, and efforts will be mad to correlate th actlvties of all group Interested In industrial health. Dr. Jones plan to go to th national na-tional capital some tim In March to help with th report on the previous pre-vious aurvey. |
