WELCOMES THRONGS M AS LEADERSHIP WEEK OPENS i i " j Special to The Telegram I PROVO, Jan. 22 With many visitori already in town, Brig -.him Young university threw open iti doora here Monday morning morn-ing to welcome representatives from communities in all sections of the Intermountain west as the school's 19th annual Leadership 'week began five-day session.4 Registration to the annual adult education program began at 8:30 , a. m. In the education building on the lower campus and .scores of Visitors were on hand at that hour 1 to register for the event and to receive re-ceive their programs before the daily sessions began at 9:30 a. m. S. council of twelve apostles was slated to deliver de-liver the Monday address, discussing discuss-ing the theme of the week, "And the Truth Shall Make You Free." He will be followed on Tuesday by Dr. Joseph F. Merrill, also a member mem-ber of the council of twelve. A rich cultural and entertainment entertain-ment program has also been prepared pre-pared for the week, commencing Monday night with two attractions. In college hall, while at th same time Mary Ellen Chase, noted American novelist, nov-elist, brought here by the Brlgham Brlg-ham Young University-Community Concert association, will discuss "Past Literary Standards for Present Pres-ent Readers" In the Provo L. D. S. tabernacle. Both events are free to leadership visitors. |
