Show MANY HAPPY RETURNS Joseph Fielding Smith Given Congratulations on Birthday On th anniversary of his birth today Th Telegram congratulates Joseph Fielding Smith, member of th twelve apostles in th L. D. S. church. He returned this morning from a visit with his daughter, Mrs. William S. Fife, In Chicago. A son of th late Joseph F. Smith. "pMsldehTbTthTL. D. STcJiurch, Mr. Smith ha always been activ In church affairs. He served on a mission mis-sion to England from 18 to 1901 and became assistant church historian his-torian in 1906. On April 7. 1910, he was ordained an apostl In th church. At th present tim h 1 also church historian and president of the Genealogical Society of Utah. An authority on the history of Utah, he Is author of 'Essentials of Church History," a widely used text throughout th church, and numerous numer-ous tracts. Hs Is an expert and enthusiastic en-thusiastic handball player. Herman B. Waters, vie president and general manager of the Tel-lurtde Tel-lurtde Power company, also receives congratulations of The Telegram on the anniversary of his birth today.
