Hamilton, former cashier in the county assessor's office, specifically is accused of having converted to his own uss 186.30 in personal property prop-erty taxes received laat July 11. D. A- Skeen, defense counsel, told the court: "I Just came Into this case recently. recent-ly. My advice to Mr. Hamilton was to plead guilty. He has mads complete com-plete restitution and I wish to ask that sentence be deferred to allow me to investigate further." After some discussion, February 13 was agreed upon. District Attorney Calvin W. Rawllngs said ths defendsnt should enter a plea in person, which Hamilton Ham-ilton then did, standing at ths counsel coun-sel tsble. "I wish to plead guilty," ha said. Hamilton was accused following an audit of personal property tax receipts. |
