Young members of ths Episcopal church wsrs urged to preeerve American democracy through support sup-port of national defense mwemtnU la an address by BrigadierGeneroJ Walter C SwMnty, commanding officer of Fort Douglas, at tho closing clos-ing meeting of th thirtieth convocation convo-cation of the Utah diocese Monday night. He followed the Right Rev. Arthur Ar-thur W. Moulton, bishop of the Utah diocese, who told the young people they represented the future of the church. The meeting was la the form of a banquet at St Paul's church. The Rev. A. Leonard Wood, adviser ad-viser of the Young People's Fellowship, Fellow-ship, outlined growth of the church in Utah the last 10 years, and the Very Rev. Franklin L. Gibson, dean of St Mark's cathedral, extended greetings. Mr. Wood was chairman, and the ' Rev. Alwyn K. Butcher, rector of St. Paul's church, was toast master. |
