Although holding himself personally per-sonally aloof rrom the negotiations, President Roosevelt has talked with Governor Frank Murphy several times, and through him made his views clear to the principals, William Wil-liam Knudsen, representing General Motors, and John L. Lewis, bead of the CIO. What those views were the White House did not- disclose today. It was admitted, however, that Mr. Roosevelt had had several talk with Governor Murphy.
