Show Students Begin U. Chest Drive i Sorority groups at the University Univer-sity of Utah began soliciting 'funds Monday as the annual U. I campus Chest drive got under way. The campaign's goal la to raise 85000 for the Salt Lake county Community Chest, the World Student Service fund, the Save the Children federation, the American Ameri-can Association for Overseas Blind and the Utah Tuberculosis Assn. A feature of the five-day drive will be the soliciting of funds in university classrooms Wednesday by the Spurs, honorary society for sophomore- women, and the Intercollegiate Inter-collegiate Knights, honorary men's service group. An assembly Thursday at 12:20 p.m. in Kingsbury hall and a dance Friday at 8 p.m. in the Union buUding win also be held in connection with the campaign. Distribution of the funds among the five charitable organizations will be decided by the student affairs af-fairs committee, headed by Dr. lOeorge A. P Km1 son, dean of stu-I stu-I dents, and Thomas C Cuthbert, 'student body president. |
