OCR Text	Show Dismissed Officer Refutes Charges An answer . to the charges against him Friday were filed in civil service commission appeal proceedings by Wiley H. Smith, re. cently discharged police officer. The answer accused Police Chief L. C Crowther of failure to set forth "real, actual or substantial" grounds for his discharge. In the reply the former police officer denied all allegations of misconduct of which he was charged, one of which was possession posses-sion of a violent and ungovernable temper and mistreatment of persons per-sons under arrest. He asked reinstatement to his former position, making awards . which appear Just and equitable.
