Show Army Test Force To Try New Discipline System WASHINGTON, Dec. 27 (UP) The army said Friday that a new system of discipline, based on a "certain amount" of self-government would be tried out by the "experimental" universal military training unit being activated next month at Fort Knox, Ky. Gen. Jacob L. Devers, army ground force commander, said the unit was intended to be a "pilot" in event congress approved a universal uni-versal training program. The new disciplinary plan will feature a merit system for exceptional excep-tional performance and a demerit system for infraction of rules. For more serious offenses an accused trainee will be tried by a court consisting of seven trainees from his own company. |
