SOS of Freighter Heard in Halifax NEW YORK, Dec. 27 UP The coast guard said Friday that the marine' radio at Halifax had intercepted inter-cepted an S O S message from the small British freighter S. S. Thackeray, Thack-eray, which said it was aground and was being pounded heavily by seas one-half mile west of Outer Cat island, near Argentla, Newfoundland. New-foundland.
