The two young'uns, Henry Smith Tanner and Linda, along with Mrs. Tanner . . . she was formerly Sarah Smith . . . are staying at the home of Mrs. Tanner's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Willard R.' A most charming visitor to Salt Lake la Miss Lotte Klem-perer, Klem-perer, daughter of Dr. Otto Klemperer, now here to direct the forthcoming presenatlon of Handel's "Messiah." It has been quite a thrill for Miss Klemperer, as this Is her first visit to Salt Lake and she was most Impressed Im-pressed with the beauty of the city. I New - Tear celebration was planned by Miss Margo Spargo, who scheduled her departure by plane for Thursday evening. She will visit in Mississippi, then she'll travel on to New Orleans Or-leans to welcome the new year and also witness the Cotton bowl football game on New Tear's day. She'll return in time for the mid-January wedding of Miss Anne Klrtley. Home After Eight Tears A very excited mother la Mrs. Frank Pia, 1263 E. 21st South, who was greeted at her door Sunday by her son, LeRoy Pia, whom she hadn't seen for eight years. LeRoy flew to Salt Lake from his home In Rio de Janeiro to be with his parents for the holiday season. He'll return to his home Jan. 10 . . . but while he's here his mother has planned one joyous family reunion. re-union. LeRoy left on a mission for the LDS church and remained re-mained In the South American city to continue working. At present he is connected with the .American Institute of Foreign Affairs. His family In Rio includes in-cludes his wife and an adorable 11-month-old daughter. Holiday Luncheon Holly and greens decorated the lovely luncheon table of Mrs. Frank W. Leffler, 37 E. Apricot ave., this Friday for her fete honoring visitors from Hollywood, Hol-lywood, Miss Jean Willea and her mother, Mrs. W. S. Willea. Among the Invited guests were Mrs. Jim Hudspeth, Mrs. Fred Murphy Jr., Mrs. Robert Price and Mrs. Delbert Swan. Young Visitor Christmas was very exciting for Patricia Ann (Patsy) Brooks, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Brooks of Moab, who spent her Christmas this year with her grandmother, Mrs. T. B. Woodward, 1419 Harvard ave. Patsy will return home Saturday . . . and you can bet she's taking the new bicycle she received for Christmas with her. From Nebraska Another here to spend the holiday season is Miss Elaine lone Rosenblum of Lincoln, Neb. I Miaa Rosenblum, fiance of Peter Garfield, is here to visit with Peter and Mr. and Mrs. Jask Garfield, 1280 E. South Temple. To Say Happy New Year A threesome who arrived this Friday to wish their parents a Joyous coming year are Mr. and Mrs. W. Keith Cole and their adorable 5-year-old Carol Ann. During their two weeks' stay they'll be guests of Mrs. Cole parents, Mr. and Mrs. Ralph D. Evans, 513 E. 3rd South. Mrs. Cole will be remembered as former for-mer popular U. student Jerry Evans. Diamond Talk Santa was mighty kind to many U. coeds, for since Christmas Christ-mas a number of diamond rings have been received . . . Jean Whitney's smile is the result of her gorgeous ring presented to her Christmas eve by Pi Kap Lloyd Keddington. And Chi Omega Marllynn Home entered the engaged circle following her present of a beautiful diamond from Sigma Chi Lewis Farr. Marilynn's sorority sister, .Peachy Stewart, has been receiving re-ceiving many congratulations for her new Sigma Chi pin from Bus Green. More Chi O's on the engaged list are Colleen All-red, All-red, who received a diamond from Neil Holbrook, and Marllynn Marl-lynn Simmons, who Is now engaged en-gaged to Sherm Thorp.
