It (UP) Th leagu of nations council wUl begin consideration Tuesday of th Anglo-Parsian Anglo-Parsian oil controversy, involving cancellation ot one of the most important im-portant fuel supplies of the British empire, it was announced today. Th Persian government canceled th concession ot th Anglo-Persian Oil company, holding the contract was made before Persia had a stable government; that royalties were insufficient; in-sufficient; thst the oil company had declined to pay taxes and had tpent profits for the development ot oil protect outside e?ersia. The British government Is the largest larg-est stockholder in th Anglo-Persian company. It waa expected that the matter would be settled on the basis of a new contract with Increased roy-sltlee roy-sltlee tor Persia. Persian officials denied that other powers inspired th cancellation. |
