In order that the Superior court of New Hampshire might pass upon the question t .of the physical ability of Dr. Alfred Ames, ex-Mayor of Minneapolis, to return to that city for trial on charges of bribery, brib-ery, a hearing In the case was given today. to-day. Extradition papers had been approved by Gov. Bachelder. and Dr. Ames was to have been taken to Minnesota last week, bat his counsel prevented this step by in-stltuting in-stltuting habeas corpus proceedings on the ground that the doctor was In ill-health, ill-health, and that the Journey would be dangerous. Other lsssues were raised, and the court set a hearing for today. |
