I. -At the MllUrd County Farmers' instltuta bald at Fillmore, a paper on arid farming was read by Bishop ChritUan Anderson, showing that wheat and rye. with proper working, can be raised profitably without with-out Irrigation. James M. Stewart of Jleadow gave ah interesting inter-esting account of his experience In raising alfalfa hay and seed without Irrigation, an experiment which had proven successful and remunerative. . Dr. Widtsoa delivered an Instructive lecture on soil quality and plant growth. A paper on ploughing and soil preparation was read by Qeorge A. Seaman of Abraham. Dr. Widtsoe spoke at some length upon rid land farming, and the proper and more profitable profita-ble use of irrigation. - A paper on dairying waa read by N. S. Bishop of Fillmore, giving useful hints on how to succeed inhat Industry. Prof Clark gave an Instructive lecture on the selection and care of dairy cowa A small h-rd of cows was on exhibition tn the courthouse court-house yard, where Prof. Clark pointed out and explained the different types of dairy and beef stock. At the evening session there was an entertaining enter-taining programme of muslo, singing, select readings and short speeches. |
