Show DISCUSS THE , INTERURBAN Street Railway Directors Hear Results of Campbell's Camp-bell's Eastern Trip. The board of directors of the Utah Light and Power company is in session Saturday afternoon. The meeting is called for the purpose of hearing the reports re-ports of General Manager R. S. Campbell Camp-bell and Attorney Le Grande Young, who have Just returned from an Eastern East-ern trip in the interests of the company. The two men went East to make a study -of the lnterurban systems through Ohio. Indiana and Illinois and see what effect they had on the business of urban lines. On the reports submitted will, rest the decisions of the board on the question of aiding Barney Mahler In the lnterurban. project proposed for Salt Lake and Logan. Attorney Young met Mr. Mahler In New York and had several conferences with him, but refused to sy what was done, or what passed between them. "It would be very discourteous, to say the least, to the board of directors, were J to give out the result of my trip to the newspapers before submitting it to them." said Mr. Campbell Saturday morning. "The trip was made in the interests in-terests of the company, and I will make my report this afternoon. Further than that I have- nothing to say." . v From other sources it was learned that the trip had been a success financially, finan-cially, and that money had been pledged for the Improvement of the present system sys-tem in the city. -One of the propoeed improvements will be a new, plant at the Jordan river, and between $100,000 and $200,000 will be spent on Improvements Improve-ments to the right of way. |
