OCR Text NEW TRAFFIC LAWS JF TOR OR R the first time In over a year the Salt Lake traffic ordinance Is placed in harmony harmony har liar mony with the state laws The new ordinance ordinance nance besides being in conformity with the state standards of speed also sets up a a- anum number number number num num- ber of new features which should not be difficult difficult difficult dif dif- dif dif- for the motorist to understand This Tills Is all very well very well but the new ordinance will not be worth the paper upon which it itIs itIs itis Is written unless the authorities shall see to It that it is is' enforced to the letter without fear or favor The greatest difficulty with any traffic law is the failure of the authorities to support it sincerely and whole-heartedly whole by making an example out of one offender and fixing cases for others It is gratifying to know that there has been less of this in the past few months than prior to the first of the year but the only way to stamp out favoritism is isto isto isto to refuse to treat offenders who have powerful powerful power power- ful Cui friends with more consideration than is given to those who lack pull It is In the interest of all the people that traffic laws are made It should be In the Interest of all the people that they are en en- en forced They should be enforced without fear or favor in memory of all those who have been killed or maimed in traffic as well as asfor asfor asfor for the protection of all potential victims of the future
