H Bjerregaard 84 local banker and the city's wealthiest resident who was found murdered murdered murdered mur mur- dered in his home this morning The body was discovered by the victims victim's son Fergus Bjerregaard 38 when he went to his fathers father's home for a a. morning call as was his wont Mr Bjerregaard lived alone in inthe inthe inthe the northeast part of the city He was a widower The Ine v victims victim s head had been beaten and cut with a bloody club which was found in his room After bein being either killed or knocked unconscious the mans man's clothing was saturated with oil and oil was thrown about the room His assailant then set fire to the aged mans man's clothing to the bedding bedding bed ding and other inflammable articles in the room A bloody butcher knife was also found in the room YOUTH FINDS BODY When Fergus Bjerregaard entered I the home he found the body charred I in places and portions of the flesh still burning Bed clothes carpets drapes and other things in the room L were Neighbors told investigating officers officers cers that they first smelled the odor of burning oil about 9 p. p m. m Tuesday Tues day but could not locate the source Mr Bjerregaard alarmed neighbors neighbors neigh bors who called Sheriff Ed J. J Peter son City Physician A. A J. J Anderson I was al alc called He found Mr Bjerregaard had been dead for several sev seve eral hours County Attorney Udell R.
