Show REESE M. REESE . CANDIDATE FOR STATE AUDITOR Reese M. Reese, State Treasurer, Treasur-er, announced today in Salt Lake City that he is a candidate for f ' -. V I Y K" I U ; A H ' .,,- i I nomination as State Auditor on the Democratic ticket. Mr. Reese was born at Wales, Utah, November 8, 1895, a son of parents who entered Salt Lake valley in 1859 after having crossed elected to the office of state treasurer. treas-urer. In 1940 Mr. Reese was elected to the position of state auditor as the leading candidate on the state ticket with the largest popular vote ever cast for a state constitu- j tional officer, and also exceeded the plains with the Mormon handcart hand-cart company. His early education educa-tion was gained in Sanpete county schools and he is a graduate of the Moroni high school and the Snow Normal College. He also attended the University of Utah for two years in addition to taking training train-ing in accounting with the Walton School of Commerce, of Chicago. Mr. Reese became a resident of Carbon county in 1915, teaching school there. He was later employed em-ployed by the Utah Fuel and the Royal Coal companies in various I clerical and mechanical positions. While serving as treasurer of I Carbon county, Mr. Reese was the presidential vote. As state auditor of public accounts he has become very familiar with the financial fin-ancial structure and accounting problems of the 29 counties and 53 institutions, commissions and departments de-partments of state government, exercising complete control of the treasury in all incoming revenue, likewise final approval of all state disbursements. |
