Show $1000 GIVEN BY UTAH CO. FOR PROVO GOLF COURSE The Utah county commission announced an-nounced it will appropriate $1000 toward construction of the new nine holes for the Provo municipal golf course with the understanding understand-ing that county residents outside of Provo may use the course. The money will thus be appropriated appro-priated for recreational purposes for the benefit of Utah county golfers generally, said Commissioner Commis-sioner Chairman George A. Chee-ver. Chee-ver. Many golfers not residing in Provo now use the present course, he said, a fact which the Timpan-ogos Timpan-ogos Golf association has pointed out to the commission. Golf course officials said today that work on the extra nine holes will get underway as soon as the weather permits, and that all grass should be in by May 15. Whether or not the course may be used this year depends on the growth of the grass. Provo city recently agreed to underwrite the project to the extent ex-tent of $15,000, with the understanding under-standing that the amount be repaid re-paid over 10 years from course receipts. . ( |
