Recent visitors at the Elmer Johnson home at Mapleton were Mr. and Mrs. Verl Johnson and two sons Carl and Ronald from Hannah, Wyo.. S. Reid Jones, son of Mr. and Mrs. S. V. Jones of this city, is enrolled at the summer school at Bradley University, Peoria, 111., according to word received from the college. He .is, majoring in horology. Mr. and Mrs. Ray Woffington and son of California, have been visiting Mrs. Woofirton's parents, par-ents, Mr. and Mrs. Spencer Mack-ley Mack-ley and other relatives and friends at Mapleton. Mr. and Mrs. Dell Hopla of California have been visiting at the home of Mr. and Mrs. David Hopla, Mr. and Mrs. Jack Hopla and Mrs. Kate Anderson at Mapleton. Maple-ton. Charles Whiting of Mapleton is convalescing from an injury sustained sus-tained while working in the Timber Tim-ber at Price canyon. He was treated for injury suffered when a tree fell and struck him on the head. ''. Mr. and Mrs. Tom Randall and family of Centerville were guests of Mr. and Mrs. Fred Weight and also visited other relatives and friends here over the week end. Mr. and Mrs. Lewis Bird and family, Mr. and Mrs. Bob Hillis and family, Loyd Bird, Russen Bird and Wallace Patrick have returned from an enjoyable and successful fishing trip to Fish Lake. Pfc. Paul R. Gren, son of Mr. and Mrs. Ralph R. Gren, Mapleton, Maple-ton, was graduated from the X-Ray Technicians Course at Medical Field Service School, Brooke Army Medical Center, Fort Sam Houston, Texas.. One of the units comprising Brooke Army Medical Center, the Medical Field Service School trains both officers and enlisted men for medical service in the Army. The courses are highly concentrated, con-centrated, preparing Army personnel person-nel for technical jobs of importance impor-tance in the Medical Service. Mr. and Mrs. J. G. Palmer of Sacremento, Calif., have visited several days with. Mr.' Palmer's daughter and son-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Holt and family at Brookside. Also guests during the week-end at the Holt home were Mr. and Mrs. Geiser and Mr. and Mrs. Huttow of Lincoln, Nebr.. Mr. and Mrs. Wesley Cochran and family have returned from an enjoyable visit to California. Mrs. Cochran has been visiting several weeks and returned with Mr. Cochran, who spent his vacation there. Mrs. George Crandall is -home from California where she s?ent a delightful two-weeks vacation visiting relatives and friends. She was the guest of her brottier Claude Larsen and family at Los Angeles and also visited with Mr. and Mrs. Glen Dallin at Long Beach. Mr. and Mrs. Frank Brown and family have spent the past week visiting Mrs. Brown's mother, Mrs. W H Pitcher and other relatives and friends at Cardston, Elberta, Can. Mr. and Mrs. LLoyd Bulkley and son. Verl and daughter Luida returned to their home in May-wood, May-wood, Calif., Thursday following several days visit with relatives and friends here. They were to O; back for the wedding of their son Keith this week. Miss Maurine Manwaring returned re-turned home recently-from a five-weeks five-weeks stay in Salt Lake City. During the time she underwent a minor operation at a Salt Lake hospital and the remainder of Jhe time visited with Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Hill, sister and brother-in- law- ..... Mr. and Mrs. Earl Riding and daughter of San Bruno, Calif-have Calif-have returned to their home following fol-lowing a few days visit with Mrs Wagner and other relatives and friends in Springvdle. Mr. and Mrs. Nolan Weight and Mrs. Robb Martin have returned from an enjoyable vacation trip to Yellowstone Park. Mrs. Ada Baron is spending a few days with friends and relatives rela-tives in Springville, coming here from Phoenix, Ariz., for the fun eral services for W. G. BlacK. Mrs. Tony Reynolds of St. George is the house guest of Mr. and Mrs. John I. Holley at Mapleton Maple-ton planning to be here seveial veeks. Mrs. John I. Holley and sister, Mrs. Clyde Burnett of Salt Lake City returned recently from a trip to San Francisco, Calif., where they visited Mrs. Holley's daughter and son-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. E. B. Mendenhall and family. They were gone about ten days and made .the trip by plane. |
