Show Missionary Writes of Work; Expresses Appreciation a 5 Towns people and especially friends of the L. D. S. missionaries in the field are happy to hear something of the activities o f these young people. And so as the Herald receives letters from them or when relatives have letters which they think would be of interest in-terest to church members and others, we are happy to pass them on . The following letter is from Elder Keith Ottesen, who is now in Oregon. Springville Herald Springville, Utah I wish to express my , sincere appreciation to the Springville Herald for sending me the paper. Every week I look forward to receiving re-ceiving it and of . reading the news from my home town. While in the mission field I appreciate ap-preciate the newspaper more than ever before- because it is almost all the news I ge. The marriages engagements and births have been so numerous I can't hope to re-mpmhpr re-mpmhpr them all. transferred to Hermiston, Oregon. The three companions I have had, have been very fine missionaries mission-aries and we have all had very good success in our work. As a rule the greatest opposition we have to our cause is indifference indiffer-ence and prejudice. People, a3 a rule, just aren't intersted in what we have to say, however the missionaries mis-sionaries have ways of delivering their message and it is being done as effectively as possible. The 85 missionaries in this North Western States Mission have really accomplished a marvelous mar-velous work. A lot of good work has been done but, the fact remains that this work is endless. Missionaries are a small fraction of people that carry the Gospel to the World. I just told my companion that many of our contacts are with people who have been intimately acquainted with the Mormon peo-rtle peo-rtle and knnw of them and their The first six months of my mission I' labored in "Moses Lake" Washington. The next town was "Prosser" and a week ago I was work. Christ said, "Ye shall know them by their fruits." Collectively speaking the mormon people have accomplished more for their own betterment and for the good of other people than any organization in existance. Their good qualities or "fruits" aid in spreading the Restored Gospel more efficiently than any other method. I am proud to belong to a church which is spoken of so highly by people who are not prejudiced and who hold high positions of , honor in their communities. I certainly enjoy my work of telling people of the coming forth of the Book of Mormon and of the Restoration of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Thanks again for the paper. pap-er.
