Show Mapleton City Announces Annual 24th of July Celebration Invitation Extended To Springville And Other Towns To Join In Commemoration Of Completion Of Highway And Pioneer Day Mapleto n is making plans to celebrate the 24lh of July and is extending an invitation to Springville citizens and those of surrounding communities to join with tnem in ob- 5servance of Pioneer Day. The various auxiliary organizations organiza-tions of the Mapleton ward have charge of events which are planned plan-ned to last all day. Reed Rafjnus-sen Rafjnus-sen from the Mutual Improvement Association has been appointed general chairman. The Relief Society will direct publicity for the celebration with Mrs. Beth Jensen in charge. Mrs. Marie Stone will represent the Primary; Pri-mary; Ernest Binks the Sunday School and Lavell Bird will represent repre-sent the town board. General plans, for the celebration call for a community program at 11 a. m., with box lunches served at the park at noon. During the afternoon, there will be children's sports of all kinds and a ball game. A complete program with time and place of the various events will be announced in the Herald next week. The celebration is being planned not only in observance of the Pioneer Pio-neer holiday but in celebration of the completion of the new highway four miles of which was recently improved at a coat of approximately approxi-mately $65,000. The highway extends ex-tends from the center of town one mile north and three miles west. |
