SUPPORT PRICE FOR UTAH POTATOES SET The government support price for the summer crop of late potatoes pota-toes in Utah will be $2.35 per hundredweight during the months of July and August, according to G. Frank Nelson, member of the Utah State PMA Committee. This support is for U. S. No. 1 grade. The basic support price for U. S. No. 1 grade size B and No. 2 grade 1 inches minimum diameter, dia-meter, is $1.75 per hundredweight. These are the basic support prices for 100 pounds of potatoes in new burlap or cotton bags and loaded F. O. B. through carrier in car lots at country shipping points, Mr. Nelson explained. The support level for potatoes which are not graded, sacked and loaded F. O. B. car, will be determined de-termined by deducting for marketing mar-keting services not performed. Producers desiring to establish eligibility for price protection under un-der the support program must have planted within the 1948 pota-toe pota-toe goal, apply to the county Triple-A Committee for a certificate certifi-cate of eligibility agreement to comply with the conditions of the program, and pay the required eligibility fee. One of the requirements require-ments is that an eligible producer will not sell field run potatoes except ex-cept to the Department of Agriculture Agri-culture or to a dealer contracting for the department.
