The Springville American Legion Le-gion team captured two contests during the past week, defeating ' the strong Payson club here last Saturday night, 40-22, and then tipping the American Fork club at American Fork Tuesday night, 52-35. The club played the Spanish Fork Vets last night and have only one game left on their schedule. This game is with Payson and will be played at Payson. In the game playe'd with Payson here Saturday night, Leonard James led his teammates in their victory with 16 points,' while Miller kept Menlove, strong scoring Pay-son Pay-son center, scoreless. The Springville Spring-ville team took an early lead and held a 26-12 lead at the end of the third quarter. Miller, with 16 points, Neilson with 11, and Hansen with 10, kept the hoop ringing as the Springville team downed the American Fork-ers Fork-ers 52-35, Tuesday. Richens, for the losers with 17 points, was high game scorer. Springville must win its remaining game, including the Spanish Fork tilt last night, to gain a chance to enter the state Legion tournament to be played here Feb. 26, 27 and 28.
