Show BRIDGE PROPOSED TO OPEN NEW TOURIST TRADE With the makeshift automobile ferry for crossing the Colorado river at Hite hopelessly lost in the last big flood, the department of publicity and industrial development develop-ment are probing the possibility of bridging the river to open new tourist frontiers. The river acts as a natural obstacle to tourist development de-velopment of the Colorado river region in southeastern Utah. According Ac-cording to Commissioner Arthur L. Crawfort of the PID, a natural bridge location has been found eight miles above Hite. Construction Construc-tion of a bridge at this point would provide a new entrance into the Natural Bridges Monument area and make it possible to drive from Mesa Verde National Park to Zion and Bryce, via the bridges and the Wayne Wonderland. |
