Show Girl's Day At High School Will Long Be Remembered ifti "Maids 'of Cotton," in cotton made dresses, took over at the high school last Friday at annual Girls' Day festivities. Beginning with a special assembly assem-bly in the forenoon, when the girls put on a clever program featuring fea-turing the theme evolving around a southern plantation, a full day's entertainment was carried out. In the afternoon the girls gave a tea for their mothers and other special guests, with refreshments and other details emphasizing the clever southern theme. The "cotton ball" climaxed the day's events, the gym being transformed trans-formed into a typical southern plantation complete with cotton balls, trellises and other decorations decora-tions specially for the occasion. Miss Gwenda Hafen did a fine job as chairman of the decorations, as did other committee chairmen and workers, including: LaRue Stone, who had charge of the assembly; Charlotte Robinson, tickets and advertising; Joan Smith, afternoon tea; Joylene Rawle, dance; Mar-gene Mar-gene Hopla, dance programs. They were assisted by Instructors Ruth B. Nielson and Lois Menzies. |
